It must be the "wow" factor.
And it's easy to go "wow" over this ingratiating and helpful profile of the Wunderkind.
And getting your writing in the Vancouver Sun is not easy.
It has become one of the most anally retentive newspapers ever, afraid of change, as if the unseen hand of the religious right is editing it.
The Globe & Mail is a hippie paper by comparison.
The Vancouver Sun has very high standards don't you know, and only a few years ago had a prominent columnist exposed for plagiarizing her hip, trendy "issues/sexinthecity' showcased pieces.

Oh my God, you're right. All this time I thought I only sent them that piece because I was interested in the topic.
But you're so right.
Because I wrote a column for that paper, I MUST have met with the owners' spiritual advisors and I must agree with them.
Come on, Allan. What were the politics at the Georgia Straight when you were there? Were you the president of the paper's party?
lol!

You want me to tell you the politics of an underground newspaper of the 60's?
Man, are you uninformed.
Norris, of the Vancouver Sun once did a great editorial cartoon relating to a story about me, and the Province did a story on another subject.
I know quite a bit about Vancouver newspapers.
we rarely had parties at the Straight. We were too busy working at publishing it.
It was members of the Straight that were largely responsible for Greenpeace.
