"They don’t get an opportunity to review or edit or veto anything. They read what I write the same time you do. I suppose if push came to shove and they told me to take something down or edit it, I would."
The CBC reviews everything that he writes on the "official" CBC blog.
None of us will ever live to see the day that Tod Maffin refuses to take something down after the CBC tells him to do so.

I'm sure people at the CBC *READ* the blog, but your statement here that "The CBC reviews" the blog implies that CBC management pre-screens my content.
This is completely inaccurate.
In fact, as a journalist/columnist, editorial independence was one of the key conditions I insisted on in taking the editorship of the blog.
Your inaccurate claim implies that I'm willing to sacrifice my editorial independence to the CBC in exchange for money.
Kindly make a correction to your post.
Thank you.

Either way, thank you for being man enough to post the correction.
Now then, speaking of ethics...
Why are you using a copyrighted image from iStockPhoto without, apparently, paying the licence fee?
Using an image without paying for it is stealing, Alan. Pure and simple.
Unlike you...
-- I pay for every single stock photo image I use on the CBC blog.
-- I pay for every single stock photo image I use on my own blogs.
-- I pay for every single stock photo image I use in my keynote presentations.
It has cost me well in excess of a thousand dollars to licence these images, but it's the right thing to do, Alan.
What's your excuse?
Enquiring minds are waiting...
